Wow....... Remember what I said about the FFXIV marketing system? There's no AH, so everything is done from bazaar. No AH means no easy way to find average prices.
Oh but it gets worse. I went to the marketplace today to see what options were available. What's the marketplace? It's a designated area in each town where you can set up an NPC to run your bazaar for you, for a small cut from whatever you sell. You can still run a bazaar yourself if you want, and anywhere you want, but letting the NPC do it means you can be out adventuring while selling stuff. You can even spend a little more money to rent one of the stalls (there's 4 in each room) to make your bazaar stand out a bit more.
That's the good news.
The bad news is there's no bazaar comments, no player search function and no way to know what anyone is selling save to check each and every bazaar. And even then there's no way to know if you're getting a bargain or getting ripped off because, again, no way to determine average prices.
The marketplace is a series of instanced zones. There's two rooms in each instance and about 15 instances. Now the smart thing to do would be to have each instanced zone meant for a purpose, i.e. sell weapons in zone 1, sell armor in zone 2, sell crystals in zone 3...
But no, there's no designation to be had. So what happens? There's a clusterfuck of players in zone 1, a few in zones 2 and 3, and zones 4-15 are basically empty. That's no surprise, because who wants to check every bazaar in 15 different zones to find what you're looking for?
The whole thing is a mess and I hope they do something about it soon. Even just a bulletin board would be nice. Sigh......
