Most people who have been following video game reviewers have heard of this guy. James Rolfe was one of the first people to start making fun of horrible old games. His videos are okay, sometimes they're funny, sometimes not. He tends to focus on cursing more than making fun of the actual game.
Anywho, you can find his older reviews on his site or YouTube channel. His newer ones are all on Gametrailers now, probably because they pay him.
Noah Antwiler is better, though.

Daniel Floyd
Daniel Floyd is someone you should check out. He makes (among other things), informative videos about the video game industry, with topics like the use of storytelling or player choice in video games. They're put together really well. Definitely worth looking at.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms
Go read Romance of the Three Kingdoms if you haven't already. It's one of the four great classic Chinese novels (along with Journey to the East, Water Margin [which, incidentally, the Suikoden games are based on], and ... uh... I forget the last. The one I haven't read).
It's based on actual Chinese history, roughly 80% historical and 20% fiction (the majority of the fiction is basically stuff added or credited incorrectly in order to skew perceptions and make a certain side appear good and the other evil). It's definitely a good read, basically a war story with some pretty incredible tactics. But avoid the abridged version like the plague. It cuts out way too much of the novel and just leaves you wondering what the hell happens at the end.
It's a long book, so it's probably better to buy it than get it from the library, but if you're too cheap there's a free online version here. The translation on this is utter crap, but you get what you pay for.
Incidentally, according to JP Button the five generals of Aht Urgan are based off the five Tiger Generals of Shu in Romance of the Three Kingdoms. You can read about that here, here, here, here, here, and here.

The Onion
By now, I'd be surprised if most people haven't heard of The Onion. It's a fake newspaper that's been on the web for a long, long time. Good stuff, you should check it out.

Final Fantasy 14
I've already decided I'm going to at least check it out. I intend to recreate Kauna, unless there's maybe new races that look appealing.
